Less channels with a Mini Box - Have economy, but only get starter channels
We hooked up our mini boxes yesterday with a very disappointing surprise. We are missing a TON of channels that we had before the mini box. I was told by the Cox Solutions store that we would get all the channels we had and then some expansion of basic into the 100s. We have the economy pack, but are only getting the channels listed on your starter pack. If you are wondering the channels we are missing, again, we only have the starter when we pay for economy. This is on all 4 TVs that got mini boxes yesterday. I have already rescanned for channels and reset the mini box, check the connection to the wall, and made sure we were running off a splitter. My entire house was excited about the mini boxes and the HD local channels, but now I'm wondering if all the boxes need to go back?!?

If you are indeed subscribed to our TV Economy package the TV Essential channels as listed at http://www.cox.com are not included as part of this subscription. Normally when a customer subscribes to this plan a filter is put on the line to block the TV Essential channels however this is apparently didn't happen in your case. I apologize for any confusion caused.

I'm confused. I thought that the Economy tier already required a set-top-box? That STB should already get the local HD channels. The Mini-box only receives Starter and Essential subscriptions.

So are the channels listed under your TV economy package also not part of your service? I pay for those channels so why aren't they on my TVs with mini boxes? Why are the mini boxes ONLY showing the starter pack when we PAY you for all the channels included in the Economy pack? So now what? We pay for full size boxes on each TV so we can have the channels we already pay for? Seems convoluted. This is what my bill says: Cox TV Economy pack includes:
Cox TV starter
Advanced TV service
Faith and Values Pack (Why???)
Cox TV Economy
According to the link: http://www.cox.com/residential/tv/channel-lineup.cox TV Economy gets both the TV Essential and Starter Pack. TV Economy 155+ channels (as listed on your website). I'm not interested in getting extra channels, just the ones I already pay for.

TV Essential channels are not included with the TV Economy package as per http://www.cox.com/channels. With a TV Economy subscription, on the TVs with a traditional set top box are eligible to receive all the channels listed. TVs without a traditional set top box (and now mini-box) are only able to receive the channels listed under the TV Starter package.

So with the mini box, I should be able to get all the channels I have in the economy package? OR are you saying I can only get the economy channels (what I pay for) if I rent a traditional box? Customer service just reiterated that I should be able to get all the channels on the mini with the economy package via chat. My concern is I have a technician scheduled to come tomorrow and I am getting two polar opposite answers and do not want to be charged for a visit.

To confirm, the mini-box will not work with TV Economy Service, that requires a traditional box to receive all of the channels offered. TV Economy customers are only able to receive TV Starter channels on TVs that either don't have any box (where applicable) or a mini-box.
