Latency Spikes

I periodically (approx. every 5-10 minutes) get latency spikes that last for 30-60 seconds. Manifests similarly to packet loss, but packet tracking shows that they aren't lost, just severely delayed (pings in the 4-5k ms range). This is with a single device wired to the router/modem. This issue is compounded when multiple devices are active. I have the 100/10 tier. Any advice for how to alleviate this issue? It's quite annoying.

What kind of modem/router do you have?

How are you seeing this latency? Can you post the ping and/or tracert data?

I would first drop the router from the mix and see if it continues. If it does not and you're stable with speed tests wired directly, then consider replacing the router or doing a factory reset on the router. Instructions abound on the net how to do that if you aren't sure. If the problem persists after a reset, probly time to replace the router, Newegg has a good TP-Link that won't break the bank here.
