IR Extesion for Cisco 9865HDC
I was given an IR extender at the Cox store today for my Cisco 9865HDC. After plugging it into the IR port, it will not work. Do I need to reboot the DVD or reprogram the remote? Or, did I get a bad IR extension?

The 5' long IR extension and 3M adhesive I was given came in an unmarked zip lock bag. It has a stereo mini plug on the end -- fits in the IR port, but does not work. I'll drop back to the store today and ask if they're sure it's supposed to work with the Cisco 9865HDC.

Chances are that you were given the "Mini-box" IR extender. But from what you say, I have no way of knowing. The 9865HDC IR operates at 57KHz. I think the "Mini-box" uses the usual 38KHz.
