Since I've seen Cox issue /56 addresses for IPv6 that would eliminate the possibility of using slaac - as that requires a /64 - "Moreover, it is important to note that SLAAC most commonly uses eui-64 format for address assignment. I got a /64 address

Your router needs to send a 'hint' requesting the /56 address (or /60, /58) with its DHCP announce
