Internet speed test very different today and I am slow using Chrome web browser...

I reset the modem, and then router twice last night, improved both "Speedof.me and Speedtest.net".  The cox speed test show amazing results close to what i am paying to receive.  Unfortunately opening a different web page was taking forever, making web surfing an difficult task.

I have not had problems like this for more than a year, I will survey my neighborhood, and see if I am the only one with this problem, does not mater which computer via the router, or direct connects.

After the momentary power outage last night, things improved for about 40 minutes and then the slow down with both Chrome and Firefox again reared its ugly head.  

I have been seeding a few Linux Distros, similar to what Microsoft is now doing with each user of Win10.  but turning that o/s distribution off has not helped with the slowness, on the 95 watt quad, or the 15 watt dual core computer, and yes the chromebook is also slow..

I looked at the modem from here however no obvious problems stand out that would explain what you're seeing.  To me it seems if the speed tests are good this could be some sort of application level issue.
