Hi there, I have noticed my internet suddenly stop periodically every now and again. It isn't so bad to the point that i need to restart my modem. It fixes itself immediately, but it is still a pain and I would really appreciate it being fixed. I don't have a wireless router. I just have the modem plugged in via Ethernet cable straight to my PC.
Another problem I noticed is my ip address. I had some problems with it because when I would Troubleshoot Problems to fix my internet connection. it would say I have an invalid ip configuration. I recently found out that my ip apparently belongs to Phoenix, Arizona. I should mention I live in Nevada.
Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

There is nothing wrong with your IP. Its just the geo-location data attached to the IP. Mine says the same thing. Buts its like your caller ID data, it doesn't actually effect how the service works.
How is your IP configured? Do you know how to check if its set to static or dynamic in your local area connection properties?
Also, when the problem occurs, do the lights on the modem change? How do you fix the problem? Do you need to reboot the modem? Computer?
Last, what are the signal levels of the modem? You can find them at the 192.168.100.1 website.
