I am a meteorologist who works from home. As part of my job, I download and upload quite a bit of data, sometimes a gigabyte or so at a time. I also have software that continually ingests radar and other meteorological data. Up until recently, I haven't uploaded and downloaded that much data. However, with my new position, I will be uploading and downloading a lot more than I used to. I currently have the Premier package, but am considering upgrading to the Ultimate package. Do you think this would be beneficial to me? I've never exceeded any caps and don't know if the increased uploading/downloading my job requires would put me over the cap.
Thanks!

Ultimate doubles your upload speed, but it only adds a extra 100GB of bandwidth cap. See here for more info.
I think your best bet is to try to guestimate how much you will be upload/downloading, If its under 300 stick with Premier. IF its over 300, you might be better off going with Cox Business and a Business Office acount. They are like cheaper business accounts and would get you same day technicians and unlimited bandwidth. IMHO getting a business account is a better investment then Ultimate upgrade.

I looked into that, but it looked like I'd be losing speed if I did that.

Well if you plan on using more then 400GB a month then you don't really have a choice. :-) But thats the best advice I can give. Good luck.

I think it'd be hard to go over 400 GB. Last month, which was my first month on the job, I used 75 GB, but who knows how much I'll use once I get going full speed.

Then maybe wait before changing your plan? See how much you use in a average month, and see if the download/upload speeds are good enough.
Also talk with your IT. See if there are certain bandwidth requirements for certain applications.Tell them what your different options are and ask what they suggest. Maybe talk to other people who have the same position as you? See what they have?
