Hello guys! In my last post I explained that my modem kept dropping the internet so I decided to return it and get a new modem SB6141. Now everything is working but now I face a different problem when I do a speed test I get 15 megabits for the download and 5 megabits for upload. I feel like I'm getting essential internet even though I payed for preferred.

In your last post, you also had bad signal levels. Your Upstream strength was particularly bad. What are they now?

When you do the speed test, are you connecting direct to the SB6141? If so, can you post the speed test?
If not, can you bypass and post a speed test?
Last, do you know what was done to fix your signal levels? They are much better. Is it only bonding 5 downstream channels? Or did the copy paste cut that off?

I haven't bypassed it yet but I will reply if I do and it is bonding 8 channels the copy and paste messed it up.

I have the same problem of my modem dropping the internet. I don't think I have ever got the speed I am paying for. I have switched out modems 3 times that I can remember now. They say it is because there are other modems in the area and to get the proper speed I need to be directly connected through an Ethernet cable. You might try that. But even being directly connected I still have the same problems just not as frequently. Just happened twice in the last 3 hours.

What speeds have you been receiving on WiFi and wired? I believe I've located your account. I'm seeing some WiFi interference in the log. Have you tried changing the WiFi channel? Do you have anything near the equipment that may be causing this?

When I'm wired I get speeds of 16 megabits and I live in an apartment so that is why I have interference but now I am dropping my internet again

I am trying to avoid scheduling a technician because I was scammed when a lady on the phone told me it was free but I still got charged $25 and the technician did nothing didn't even check the wires all he did was blame it on my modem and said that I would need Cox Wire Insurance to fix the problem but he didn't even know what the problem was!!!!

Could you explain this? How big is the complex?
The logs mention resets from power cycles. Is that your resetting it?
The T4 error makes me think it's a issue with the downstream. Your downstream is a little low, but I think something else is going on.

Yes that is me resetting it but the downstream was with a splitter so that is why it was low here are my signal levels with out

Do you get the same speed without the splitter?
Also, what kind of PC are you testing with? Something relatively modern? IE Windows 7 above.

Welcome to the club! Cox support has no idea what they are talking about when it comes to this issue. The techs are contractors that have no access to the information they need to fix these problems. I have also had ongoing issues with slow internet speed for the past year. I thought my problems were finally fixed, but now I'm maxing out at about 30Mbits again (and a whopping 5Mbits upload.) I'm paying for 100Mbits. I have had several technicians out and purchased a new modem and now I'm right back where I started. I would love to tell Cox to shove it, but seeing as they have a monopoly, they are happy to continue taking your money and giving you the finger in return.
