So this morning I was notified via email that I have exceeded the level cap for my tier of service. I never knew there were caps on data transfer. Didn't know Cox was turning into a Cell Phone company. 300gb is my cap and I am over by 5gb with 16 days left in my billing cycle. SO when I get home I will have to unplug my internet until my billing cycle is up. I pay $300.00 a month to Cox. The price keep going up and nothing is ever given back to long time customers (12) years. I do not know what Cox is going to do when the XBox 720 and the PS4 come out with a majority of the new games if not all are going to be downloadable only. Right now just downloading DLC packs for new games and such has used up my 300gb. Just do not know why there is a level cap.

Data allowances are in place to ensure that capacity is available to all of our customers and not consumed by a small majority of heavy users. More information on data allowances can be found at http://www.cox.com/policy.

Actually anyone in the networking business knows when caps are placed on bandwidth that generally means the company does not have faith in it's own network.

I've gone well over the data cap(had to switch to ultimate eventually because of it happening so much), but I can assure you that if you just call them and explain, you won't have to turn your internet off etc.....or at least I never did. Just make a phone call to customer service and they will tell you that it is just a warning and if it keeps happening then you will have to upgrade your service, but for now you are okay.

BTW, I voluntarilly upgraded my service, and even after going over my 15Gb data cap by well over 100Gb, they never shut me off, and that was before I called them.
They pretty much are warning you with the emails.
