Intermittent outages

In Avondale, Arizona, my cable, phone, and internet have been in and out of service all morning.  Any idea why, Cox?

Hi dhw1949,

We're not showing an outage in your area however your equipment is not receiving a signal. Is the coax from your equipment plugged into a cable outlet or splitter?

That's a curious statement on your part, since I was posting over your facilities.  I went to the store later this afternoon and noticed several techs with Cox decals on their vehicles (contractors).  After what would be their end of shift these outages ceased to occur.  Hopefully they fixed the problem, otherwise this will happen again tomorrow.

Maria, I suggest in the future you at least look at the profile of those to whom you respond.  Your response to my query could be perceived as demeaning.

Many times if the modem is experiencing heavy packet loss, the SNMP communication between the modem and Cox can break down, making it appear that the modem is offline in their tools. Or it's possible she was looking at your modem during one of the brief outages. Also, different areas track outages in different ways, so short of polling the entire node, many times known outages are unknown to the people taking the calls.

If the problem does happen again, please post your signal levels.

I get what your saying about the signal levels and the modem, but the tv was getting knocked out  at the same time as phone and internet.  The modem is independent of the tv.

Today, no workers in the area, no outages!
