Intermittent loss of audio with new Contour box

Several times an evening I lose audio watching live tv, VOD movies, or recorded shows.  Picture is fine. Can restore audio by repeatedly changing channels, or going backward & the playing live or recorded shows. Only happens on new Contour box, not two other slave boxes.  Reset box repeatedly, problem recurred Cox techs swapped out box, same problem.  Sound loss occurs on all 3 sound outputs from Contour box (TV audio, receiver audio, & hearing aid loop audio), so problem is in the Contour box.  Second Cox tech no showed.  Third Cox tech changed out cable from pole to house, & house to Contour box.  Same problems occurred.  "Elevated" tech could not solve, said maybe software problem with Contour box. His best idea was to move Contour box to basement tv, which we hardly ever watch.  Problem is very irritating.  Anyone else facing same issue?

Yes I tried replacing HDMI cable between box & TV, no change, still experienced same problem.  I have also tried disconnecting, one at a time, the other cables to the other audio outputs (receiver, hearing aid loop), no change, still experienced same problem.

What version HDMI cable are you using?

Category 2 certified, backwards compatible, Metabridge cable purchased 2 months ago.  Have also used (& had the same problem) with HDMI cable recently purchased from Amazon.com.  Both support high speed, HDTV, ethernet, 3D, audio return, have gold plated connectors, etc. etc.

Does the problem still occur if you use component cables from the box to the TV instead of an HDMI cable?
