I have Cox Internet. How can I block my daughter from using Facebook?

I have Cox Internet & need to block my daughter from using Facebook. She uses the Firefox browser. I use the same computer but have a separate account; my browser is Internet Explorer.  I have tried to block her through Firefox but it doesn't seem to work. Is there a way to do this through Cox Internet?  I do not want to block my own Facebook account.

Short answer: No

There are a bunch of ways you can block sites, and its hard to make a suggestion without knowing more about your setup, PC, OS, etc. But the two most common methods is using a alternate DNS like OpenDNS to block the computer from being able to look up the site, and a a program that has some sort of parental controls. Cox Mcafee seems to have such a feature and can find out more info here.

The problem is, to my understanding, there is no way to block just HER from accessing the website. It just blocks the COMPUTER from accessing it. You might be able to create a separate user account  and only install the website blocking software on that user, but that would cause some complications. There are also a few work arounds which could be easily found with a quick google search.

I think the easiest and most effective way would be to just change her Facebook password and password recovery info. Then if she needs to, or you give her permission, then you can log in for her.
