Forum still breaking

So after 4-5 posts reporting problems with this forum in great detail, and getting little to no response for over a year, I decided to call in reinforcements. The site was just down for about 15min. I have posted the problem on DSLR in the webhosting section. Perhaps they can help Cox fix the problem that Cox can't seem to fix. This isn't to step on toes or bruise ego, I am just tired of the site being broken and no one caring.

Here is the thread. Feel free to post your experiences.

I will be updating this thread as much as I can. I don't want this to be swept under the rug again. Should I contact the webhost for you Cox? I work as a engineer in a NOC so I have their number and support paths, I just would think Cox would want to fix the problem themselves. I mean how can we expect Cox to help us with our problems if they can't even fix their own? Don't mean to sound harsh, but thats the way I see it.

There have been 3 times in March when i could not get into this forum. The page wouldn't load.  I like using the forum to learn about problems because the hold time on the phone is at least 10 minutes (25 minutes to get to Tier 2).  I have had good luck with phone support once i reach them.  Sometimes they have a recorded message about an outage in my area which is nice.

Health Edge,

Thank you for providing the error messages, I will pass this information along to our engineers so they can look into it.  We appreciate the feedback, if you run into any more issues please post that information as well.

Why? None of my other feedback has lead to any changes. And do Cox engineers work on this forum? Or is it a 3rd party support system where you have to make a ticket?  I decided to take my time and effort to other forums that I work on. If improving the forum isn't worth Cox's time then Cox's forum isn't worth my time.

How many times in how many ways and in how many threads are you going to say goodbye?

Yeah I've seen the nonsense happen for a long time too. Pretty unacceptable when you have multiple reports over the course of literally YEARS that Cox can't work with Rackspace to solve the issues with a relatively small forum site. It just blows my mind. Whoever is handling this should be fired, because with a recurring issue over the course of a very long time, obviously someone doesn't have the brains to resolve it or they would have by now.

Is there someone higher I can complain to than just here on the forum?I really want to know where I can escalate this because moderators say over and over that they report it but it's very obvious it needs to get to a higher level. What is our best avenue when we have an INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER WHO CAN'T KEEP THEIR OWN FORUM WEBSITE RUNNING??

You guys just bow smoke and say you will pass along our comments, but honestly, coulda fooled me, nothing gets done and the problem recurs over and over. So either your comments are just getting ignored or whoever they go to isn't taking proper lines of action. What's the next step, who is the next level to talk to?

I would say it's simple economics. Consider how many Cox subscribers there are. And then how many people use this forum. It's just not worth the expense to fix it.

If this site hangs and won't load occasionally, so what? Try again in 5 or 10 minutes if one just must read the latest complaint about Contour, On Demand or network congestion.

Most posters here would be better served by doing a simple Google search. No question posted here is unique. They have all been asked and answered before by someone somewhere. Not to mention getting multiple answers immediately instead of waiting hours or even days for a reply.

Hey, they might even come across some useful information they could store away for the next crisis. Teach a man to fish and all that.

Well, Jerry, why are you suddenly making excuses for Cox's lack of action? I'm not gonna argue with you, but you are not being constructive at all, you have added nothing, and just wasted people's time playing devil's advocate here. I asked specific questions to Cox I'd like an answer for.The forum is part of a service I pay for and a support method should I need it. So if you're not being useful here why not go read google as you suggest and stop trolling.

Tiffany, thanks but I'm not buying it any more. You said that a YEAR ago...shall I go back and quote all you moderators' empty responses to this issue?

I asked you a specific question. Now I want an answer. Here is the question in black and white (again as you seemed not to hear it the first time):

I want to know who else HIGHER IN COX THAN FORUM MODERATORS I CAN CONTACT ABOUT THIS, BECAUSE IT IS VERY OBVIOUS YOU ALL ARE BLOWING SMOKE AND NOTHING IS BEING DONE.

You can feel free to email me the proper contact information for this person or persons that I CAN work with to get some real answers about this issue that HAS NOT BEEN ADDRESSED FOR YEARS AND ALL WE EVERY HEAR FROM YOU IS "WE ARE CURRENTLY INVESTIGATING THE INTERMITTENT STATUS OF THE FORUMS."

Having a viable support alternative that is PART OF WHAT I PAY YOU FOR be down and inaccessible for hours or sometimes even a day or two at a time is unacceptable when you are so VERY aware how long this has been going on and have made no reasonable disclosure to your PAYING CUSTOMERS what you have done to address the issue, you've simply repeated the drivel you just did OVER and OVER for YEARS.

Enough is enough. Get me in contact with someone who actually can do something more than "pass along the message."

I'm going to let the better angels of my nature take the lead this one time. It's always more fun to watch a train wreck than be in one anyway.

Oh, by the way, if anyone happens to be interested, I did a simple Google search earlier today and was able to discover the name, title, address, and phone number of the person closest to the top of the organizational chart at Cox's Atlanta Headquarters whose portfolio covered the web-based products and services Cox offers to its subscribers.

Just dripping with irony. And if I ever stop laughing I just might give them a call to register my profound disappointment in their handling of this issue and urge them in the strongest possible terms to quickly rectify the situation before life as we know it comes to an end for those poor souls waiting on their forum page to load.

Nah.
