I would think if you spent good money on an upgraded service that you'd get the speed you pay for, or at least most of what you pay for. Unfortunately my 25Mbs service is getting about 10-12Mbs and a 80-120 ping on a day to day average. Is it possible my equipment is to blame, or is it just Cox not delivering what they get payed to deliver?

Seems I should get half my money back or somebody should fix their stuff!

Everything looks good although the modem is one of the older DOCSIS 2 varieties. The limiting factor there will be that the modem only supports 1 downstream channel so it'll be more susceptable to slowdown during periods of peak demand. In your case you would probably benefit from upgrading to a 3.0 model for that very reason.

Thanks for the reply Chris. Yes, I'm sure a DOCSIS3 modem would be better than a 2.0 version, but the issue still remains that less than half of what I pay for never arrives! I'll pick up a Motorola 3.0 modem tonight and get it set up. I hope to see that half service disappear.
my question to you is: would it not be better customer service to look for slow connections amongst your customers and e-mail the ones that could be getting faster speeds by changing to newer modems?

In order to check customer speeds from our end we would need access to your PC which I'm sure most customers would not appreciate. As for modems themselves officially bnew customers are not allowed to sign up for your tier of service anymore without using a 3.0 modem because the provisioned speeds are pushing the practical limits of what a 2.0 modem can handle. We have experimented with notifying customers grandfathered in with the older equipment however oddly enough that effort was also met with some customer push back.
