I need my email up all day long. However, If I leave for any length of time (10min or less) it times me out stating for security reasons that I was logged out. Can this annoying feature be turned off. I have Virus protection and malware for my security. Don't need Cox's deciding for me what is best for my security. Can this be turned off? This is one of a long list of things I do not like about Cox's email. So many stupid features.

Short answer: no
Its based on activity, so if it doesn't sense any active commands (check mail, create mail, delete, etc) then it logs you out thinking your AFK. This is standard practice for banking sites and any site that contains possible secure information. You can get around it by writing a script, or trying a ad-on that reloads the page every 5-10min, but other then that, there is no way to disable the feature, that I know of. Sorry :-(
You can get around it by using a client like Outlook or Thunderbird though, the later which is free. See Cox article here on it.

Nope. Your security is important to Cox, as it is to other websites where you log in. You won't stay logged in for extended periods if the site cares at all about your security. The assumption is that if you were just to stay logged in all the time that someone else may come along and abuse your account. So it's understandable. Use an email client and you won't have that issue.
Yeah Yeah, I know, "Cox doesn't know what I am doing and I am on a personal computer that no one else has access to." You're right...they don't know. Neither does your bank, your stock exchange site, your 401K site, your insurance site, etc. etc. So they will log you out for your own safety. If you have an email client up and choose to stay logged in all the time, then it's on you if your security gets compromised, not them.
