DVR saves, but won't show programs

I had over a hundred recordings on my DVR. This morning I felt good enough to start watching some of them but to my surprise EACH AND EVERY program was unavailable. 2.1.2.10 was the offical error reference number. What the heck is going on?

My Conture will only record 2 programs at a time unlike the advertised 6 like they advertise on TV. It also tends to save all the programs and series you ask it too, but then it won't let you see them. I've been paying for this service for several years, my question is WHY should I continue? Does Cox have a reliable system or is there another way to record my stuff. I'd like to be able to back them up too. Cox does not allow that, so when they're gone there's no getting them back. Now, I've lost many months of programming, I don't want to do that again.

Thanks, any advice appreciated.

Cox has two different types of DVR service, Contour Record 2 and Contour Record 6. If you can only record 2 shows it's because you have the cheaper DVR service.

Holdcard,

chris_c21  is correct, it does appear you have a two tuner DVR not the 6 tuner. Are there any splitters on the line which you can remove? If so, please bypass that and reboot the box.

Dina, just trying to understand your reply. Why would splitter before DVR stop it from displaying already recorded programs to TV?

Don318,

The error code you're getting is a signal issue that is blocking the playback. Removing the splitter could resolve this and will then allow us to take reading and send the proper hit to the box.
