Dvr recording error and constantly loosing signal to channels

My first problem is that I constantly loose signal to my channels. Usually resetting the box fixes the problem but I miss half a show constantly resetting.  My next problem is every time I try to record something it won't work and says recording error. Any advise would be greatly appreciated because I'm not enjoying paying for crappy service.
