DVR list not coming up

When I try to access the DVR list a notice comes up stating there may be a problem with hard drive.  I did a retry and it did not work.  I tried the reprogram however that caused the tv to be out most of yesterday.  it finally came back on but the DVR list still does not come up.  help!

It's sounding like the hard drive in the DVR may be failing based on what you're describing.  In some cases you can try resetting the box by disconnecting power for two minutes and reconnecting to see if that clears it up but more than likely the box is going to need to be swapped.
