Did you order a professional internet install and a router? Or did you buy a Home Network installation? Alot of times sales people will throw in routers for cheap to make a sale but not include the Home network installation.

the installation guy called me before arriving, to say that I needed to pick up the dual band modem. I asked him what he was going to install and he said "single band modem". I was not informed of this at the time of ordering or when the appointme,nt was made nor even when I got the confirmation phone call for the appointment. I can't find anything about it on the Cox web-site either.

The installation guy came and the installation failed after about an hour where we tried to identify the cables in my apartment and the connections in the basement. I have an existing installation of Verizon FIOS (my intent was to switch) and when I asked if the installations could co-exist I got no answer. The guy left and said he would talk to his boss. He asked me to contact the building maintenance people to see if there was a cut cable or some other issue.

Now I paid for a professional installation, I have none, when the guy left, the cables he had been trying to get a signal on were for my Fios installation because internet did not work anymore. I re-connected them and it worked again. I called back and gave this information but I guess friday night it was too much to understand that it was probably one set of coax in the apartment and my Fios install was using it and it needed to be stopped before I could get Cox installed.

I think I need to cancel my order. Too much incompetence from cable peope, I mean what is your job exactly Cox ?
