Dropping connection multiple times per hour in Las Vegas - Wired connection

This is getting pretty old. Most of the time it is only for a few seconds but it is enough to screw up whatever I am doing...esp if I am online gaming; a few seconds is all it takes in that case and crash, you're done.

Anyone else having this issue in Las Vegas? I called tech support and every was fine, they said it had ot be on my end and they wanted me to pay for premium tech support....ummm no. We have mulitple devices hooked up and every one of them goes out, which mean it is either your end or your router I am paying you for.

I am not in Las Vegas but in Oklahoma. This dropping off of the internet has been going on here for over a year.  The first time was about 6 months ago. Had numerous technicians out and finally a senior tech came out and we thought the problem was fixed. Didn't have any issues until now. The last time they sent us a new modem and rewired cables.  This time we have had 4 different techs out with the last two being cox techs. Both of them said everything in the house and going into the house was fine and that it wasn't our problem but the lines in the neighborhood were old and needed to be replaced and that they would get some linemen out here to take care of the problem.  Said we weren't getting enough signal coming through. That was on the 21st of this month and still haven't seen any linemen out working on the lines.  Just got off the phone with them again and was told they would send another tech out.  What part of it isn't a problem with our stuff don't you understand.  VERY FRUSTRATED WITH COX SERVICE.  As much as we pay Cox every month it would be greatly appreciated if they would get out here and do something about this

I'm experiencing the same in Las Vegas. dropped connections and even if I do have a constant connection. my speeds are **. I see uploads today as low as 5KBps. That's dial up speed all over again. It takes forever for me to send information to connect to websites and the like.

Mako482, Please sign in to http://bit.ly/CoxSpeedTest and run a test so we can analyze the results.

pigmama,  since the line work has been completed we would need to have a technician come back out. I can set up the appointment for you or you can call in to do so. Let me know what you'd prefer.

flipanda, I see you have your own thread going right now. We will respond there soon.
