DNS Issue With www.mactrast.com?

I'm a Mac user, and like to check out the Mac site www.mactrast.com once in a while, as they run some pretty good deals from time to time.

For the last couple of years, though, I haven't been able to get to this site from my Cox service at home.  On my Mac, it takes a full 60 seconds before the site starts to load.  On my iPad or iPhone, it doesn't load at all.  If I switch off WiFi on my iPad and use 4G service, the site loads right away.

I've contacted Mactrast, and they tell me they've checked with their web host, who tells them the problem is at Cox's end.  It has something to do with DNS and Cox (I don't pretend to understand it all).  So Mactrast tried to contact Cox directly, but were ignored.  They then contacted Cox thru Cox's Facebook site, and were told that they couldn't help mactrast, and that the user (i.e. "me") would have to contact Cox tech support directly.

Quite honestly, I was hoping others here could check out www.mactrast.com and see if it loads for them properly?

If not, is there a way for Cox to monitor these forums and check it out themselves?

Thank you.

I don't see how it could be a DNS issue if the site is loading at all. Maybe if your DNS servers were malfunctioning, but then that would effect all websites. Does your IT have any moe info on what kind of DNS issue they think is happening? Or better yet, can they just post here?

Also, I tried here and had no problems getting to the site. I used both Chrome and IE and Cox DNS (68.105.28.13), Google DNS and OpenDNS. What happens when you do a nslookup?

C:\Users\nslookup www.mactrast.com
Server: router.asus.com
Address: 192.168.1.1
Non-authoritative answer:
Name: mactrast.com
Address: 54.85.109.253
Aliases: www.mactrast.com

Thanks for your reply, Edge...below is what I got when I did an nslookup....

I just verified the problem is still there with my iPad...using WiFi, it takes about 60 seconds to load the site...on LTE, it loads within a couple of seconds.

Any other suggestions?  I see the results I got from nslookup are a bit different than yours...maybe there's something there?

nslookup www.mactrast.com

Server: 10.0.1.1

Address: 10.0.1.1#53

Non-authoritative answer:

www.mactrast.com canonical name = mactrast.com.

Name: mactrast.com

Address: 54.85.109.253

Try setting up alternate DNS on the Ipad when using Wifi to see if it is a DNS issue. See here for instructions how.

Also what exactly did your IT say? Any emails or info from them that might be helpful to translate? Is your Wifi through their VPN for instance?

Not directly. It does show me you have a non-typical network configuration. I assume 10.0.1.1 is your router? But in general we are getting the same IP.
