Cox Website doesn't work

Hi there,

I'm a new customer with Cox, and I'm having an issue with the website, the website works fine (assuming I'm using COX connection) but if I go to my work place, it will work, if I only change my internal IP address, I guess COX is doing some sort of IP blocking? may be ?

we use untangle and I turned off every single firewall or app control or phising ... etc you name it, it still will not work unless I change the internal IP, I then bypassed the firewall and it started working, after couple a minutes (I signed out and signed in multiple times) it stopped working again.

I guess cox is detecting the failed or login attempts and will block you from logging in somehow... the funny part, i'm not getting any warning message or failed login notification, I tried with multiple browsers, mainly Chrome, FF & IE

I don't know how many people are affected with this, but it seems cox are using some sort of java scripts or something else that's causing this whole mess and not working properly...

As an IT Manager at my work, I spend most of my time at work! I don't know how I'm supposed to pay the bills, I guess cox doesn't want my money ! LOL!

I called and talked to on of the TechSupport, but she was clueless, and she recommended resting my password! REALLY !? hehehe I tried so many thing honey, but she kept insisting on doing that, and I did....

p.s. I tried 3 different OSs, Windows, Linux, and MAC, with minimum 3 browsers each! with 3 ISPs, 2 out of 12 static public IP, one verizon 4G modem and my AT&T mobile tethered.

Whoever is working on the website needs to check this!

Thanks!

"if I only change my internal IP address"

You mean when you change your private IP, like 192.x.x.x or 172.x.x.x? If so, thats not Cox doing the blocking my friend. Cox cant see behind your NAT, how would they even know your internal IP? Thats what makes it...internal.

Its sounds like your firewall has a rule tied to your IP address thats blocking java-script.

Also..how do you have 12 static IP's? Are talking about Cox Business? Maybe some technical data? Error your getting? Website? Can you ping the domain? Etc

Hi,

Thanks for the quick reply!

I meant when I change my IP from 192.168.0.40 to 192.168.0.50... I know this sound weird, I'm by-passing our firewall and connecting directly thru my work ISP which is not Cox, we have Megapath and they don't block anything.

Just an update: we have 2 accounts at work one with different ISP and with 2 sets of /28 IP space (13 usable IPs), we do WAN fail-over and load-balancing.

This is also happening if I switch between the public IP addresses, and even if I connect from my work Verizon 4G modem...

I can ping to their domain cox.com, I believe they have some bugs or issues with the login page, right now it took me over 10 mins to load this page to reply to your post, and about another 10 mins to login! now I'm back home using my cox connection.

I also tried clearing my laptop cache, restart browser(s) it didn't work, until I changed my WAN IP (by releasing the IP assigned by DHCP)
