Cox webmail won't send...

I'm out of country on travel and use webmail as well as mobile phone email client to check mail & send mail.   Both reporting emails sent by "sent and save" message and appearing in sent mail folder (on both webmail and mobile clients) but they are not actually being sent as they are not received by recipient.

Any ideas?  Perhaps my account blocked due I'm accessing via another country instead of normal, AZ connection?  Perhaps cox SMTP server backed up?  (doubt it, it's been not sending for around 24 hours now).

Please advise if you have any ideas how to unstick the email and get them actually sending again.

Thx,

Mike

What ISP are you on? Many will block access to any SMTP server except their own on port 25. The work around is to use user/passsword authentication on port 465 with SSL. Not sure why that would cause a issue with webmail though, that should work anywhere in the world, since its just a webpage.

How are you testing your outbound? Are you sending to yourself or someone elses email? Do you have spamfilter enabled in webmail? Or maybe some kind of inbound rule or forward? Maybe try creating a test email account with webmail and see if you can send out from that?

No access blocked since using webmail shows items in my Sent items.  And on phone, there is no report of message send failure.   That is what is strange:  NO indication that the messages were not sent; they're just not received by the recipient.   The problem just started yesterday; the recipients received a couple of the messages then stopped receiving them.

Yes, I tried copying my own cox email account on the send and did NOT receive the copy into Cox mail.  So pretty sure they're not actually being sent by Cox server.

Tried again. no luck.  Still looking for ideas.

Thanks.

Hi Mike,

If you are sending from your webmail account and the message is showing in your sent folder but not making it to your inbox, I will need to test the email here to see what's going on. Do you have another email to message me at cox.help@cox.com? If not, please visit us at www.facebook.com/coxcommunications and send us a private message with your issue, email address, service address, and name on the account.
