I currently have the Premier package. I was running on an outdated modem and was capping at 25mbs. I upgraded to the SB6141 docsis3 modem and run through a net-gear n750 router. With the new modem I am now stalling out at 32mbs. I tried bypassing the router and directly connecting to 2 different systems and there was no change.I have read many a forum and the consensus is the speed is low for the package considering the hardware.
I have seen posts with similar issues and they were solved with what seemed to be administrative fixes . Perhaps that is the root of my problem? If not then the next step would be a hands on tech visit I assume? Here is to hoping for an easy fix. Thanks

I have the same cable modem and the same problem. Just upgraded service and bought a new modem. I guess I will call support and ask why I'm paying for 50mb and getting 32mb.

We can take a look at the signal levels and see what's going on with the connection speeds. Are there any splitters or amplifiers connected to the cable outlet the modem is using? I'd like to check the signal levels o the modem, please email us at cox.help@cox.com including your account information.

Thank you for the response. There is one known split in the attic that was added by a tech many years ago, besides that I can not confirm anything. There are no known amplifiers. The speed does not change regardless which cable port on the wall I use. I will send a response to the email you have suggested.

I did find a service code problem on your account and corrected that. Let us know if you still see speed issues.

When you purchase a Docsis 3 modem it depends on how many Chans it has for upload and download. I have a 8x4 with no issues streaming. Also when you run a speed test Cox gaurenties 50mbps on their network. When your running a test on a third party site or server you will sometimes get around 50mbps down. Its because they push out certain bandwidth to you for up/download speed & Depends how far away the server is from you. I sugguest you search Cox Speed test in google and find the tool to speed test in cox network. Always run the speed test with a wired device.

Why test within Cox network only? Isn't that "cheating the system?" Do you work for Cox? Does Cox package 300/30 speed "only within the boundaries of the Cox network?"

Whatever code issue you found seemed to fix the issue. The same speed tests that were showing 25 are now 100+. Numbers aside the real world application is night and day. Thanks again for the support.

Because it tests the internet service provided to you. Cox does not control congestion from their network out, which sometimes effects speed tests. Even good ones. Testing with a in network test and then comparing them to outside network test, if nothing else, shows where the bottleneck (if one) is.
Actually yes, they do. May want to read your ToS.
