Cox e-mail problem

My wife sends me e-mails from her cox account to my cox account and I have not received them for the past 3 days. This also happens when I send from my cox account to her cox account. However, if she sends to my gmail account I receive it. Nothing has changed to any of our e-mail settings or security software and we have tried this from 3 separate computers. We have no confidence in what e-mails are being received or sent. Is there an issue with the cox servers? We can both seem to receive e-mails from other senders not on cox.

Hi PhilGuzelf, are you using a third party email client? Or are you going online to the Cox website to use Cox Webmail?

Nothing has changed for several years we use windows livemail. However when I look at the cox website the e-mails are not there either. Most other sent e-mails are received as long as they are not on cox.

By chance have you recently tried to block any spam email or configured any rules to try and automatically process emails?  In many cases it can simply be a mis-configured filter or message rule causing behavior such as this.

As I mentioned we have the same results on three different computers. I could see if one computer was having the problem but all three are. Also if I send to gmail I receive them. It is all the same for all our cox e-mail accounts not just one or two we have 6 cox accounts.

Don't forget about our webmail if you use that.  If you setup any blocks there it would affect all of your devices.

We never go to the web site unless we are trying to find anything we may have deleted. Just don't make any changes there.

I'm still thinking you might have a filter problem somewhere.  Are you receiving any emails at all?

Yes I am receiving e-mails from anyone not sending from a cox account. I can send and receive from my gmail account but from cox to cox there is nothing. I sent an e-mail to cox support but If they responded I may not have received it. It is only from a cox account to another cox account.

It was a pleasure speaking with you today.  Hopefully my suggestions made some sense.  In case you forgot I suggest going into webmail for all of your accounts and setting the spam blocker to the lowest setting and reporting false positives by emailing them to thisisnotspam@cox.net.  Check back in a few days and let us know if there is any change.

It took several days but it seems that COX no longer tags my personal e-mails as spam. However I have noticed that some normal e-mails, newsletters, updates from clients and venders have been getting tagged as spam when they should not be. I have been sending those to thisisnotspam@cox.net but that means I won't reset my spam blocker setting for several days to see what is happening. After many years, my once reliable COX e-mail has become unreliable and I am no longer sure that I can trust it as my main client.

Definitely continue to report those items as not being spam.  In order to minimize the impact of false positives I'd recommend continuing to have spam tagged as such and use your own filtering rules within your email client so as to avoid missing any important messages.

Many of us have same issue: the inability to receive mail inside cox system which is around from about 29th of October. We did trust Cox with our digital life and pay a lot just to see'm beating around the bushes covering up. I hope a general solution for the screw up is put in place soon so that we don't have to take all the spam into our e-mail client inboxes just to avoid missing essentials.   I also hope Cox will let us know when that happen. I also hope more people will complain on that to motivate them to action.

Always starts with the typical COX response, "it is nothing we did, it has to be something you did." Then they go from there around in circles and never admit that they caused the problem. It is true of all their services.

My emails have been having the exact same problem since around Oct 29th.  Random emails come in hours, sometimes up to a whole day, after they've been sent to me.
