Cox blocking access to Gmail's POP servers

Suddenly I can't download my gmail email.  Cox is blocking access to Gmail's POP servers.  WHY?

I can't get in either. Feels like a Gmail problem. Website works. Problably a issue with them changing authentication type.

I went through this trouble shooter and Google said it was my host.

Whoever it is, I hope they get it resolved.  Thanks for replying.  It's good to know it's not just me.

Yea, Im still looking into it. Made a post on DSLR and checking with my family. I have set up most of my family with Gmail, so when there is problems, I am the guy they call, so thank you for the heads up. I am in RI. Are you close? Wondering if geographically isolated.

I use IMAP with gmail & it's been working all AM.  Maybe something with their POP server.

I tried POP and IMAP. I can't get into either. I don't know what is going on, but it has me angry. If this is TLS related I am giving up Gmail and I have been with them since beta. I don't like companies forcing security on me. If I did, I would go with Apple.

Set up one of my gmail accounts as a POP3 test account using T-bird.  Used SSL/TLS and Normal Password security on port 995.  This account is working on IMAP all morning and working now on both IMAP & POP3.  I am next door to you Teck in CT.

HI JP11111, was there any specific information from the troubleshooter tool? What application are you using for email?

DSLR thread is a bust. Maybe localized. Maybe maybe IPv6 DNS issue? Effects 3rd clients on phone and 2 PC's, but Gmail app on phone works, and web access works on everything. Downloaded Thunderbird and OpenSSL for testing, but it is not Windows friendly. Have uninstalled now so won't be able to test further. Doesn't seem to be effecting any of my customers and I don't use it so... ::shrug:: Good luck though.

::Edit:: Got a bite on DSLR with some test user settings but my main account started working, without any change by me, before I could test. Everything also OK with OP?
