Hello,
I am confused how much extra it would cost for me to upgrade to Contour service (mainly to get those extra mpeg 4 channels).
I currently subscribe to regular hd DVR service ($11.99) with hd pvr receiver. If I replace that service for the record 2 , would it cost the same or be $11.99 more per month? Or how much more would it be per month?
Also, can the new Cisco boxes be programmed to work with the Cox DVR
7820 remote control? I love that remote and do not like the other remote models.
Your website says:
| Contour Service | Monthly Price |
|---|---|
| Contour Service with Record 2 | $11.99 |
| Contour Service with Record 6 | $19.99 |
| HD/DVR Service | Monthly Price |
|---|---|
| DVR Service | $11.99 |
| HD Service | Free |

I asked this question to 4 CSRs a few months ago. Half said that the $11.99 Contour "Record 2" service price was instead of the regular HD DVR service price, and half said that it was in addition to the regular HD DVR service price. Let me know what answer(s) you get.
The Cisco DVRs come with a URC-8820 remote, which is the same as the 7820 except for a few more buttons:

It took me a day or two to get used to a few minor changes. Your 7820 should work, but will not operate some functions.

I went through this upgrade last July ... replaced a 160GB Moto HD/DVR with a Contour (Cisco) record 2 1TB DVR at no additional monthly cost. My bill stayed the same.
Don't know about the remote. They gave me an 8820 remote which I never use as I have a Harmony 650 programmed to control our home theater system. The Cisco box works fine with the Harmony remote.

The cost to upgrade will vary depending on what services you already have. Also, in some markets, the 2 tuner Contour receivers are no longer available. I can review the account to confirm.
