Configure Outlook 2013 for Cox mail

I am trying to set up my new Cox e-mail account with Outlook 2013. I can send a test e-mail to my Cox account, but get "Err invalid user name or password" from Incoming mail server. I can log into my Cox account and send and receive mail, so the account is working. I have tried POP3 account with incoming: pop.cox.net, Outgoing: smtp.cox.net, I am not requiring Secure Password Authentication. Under advanced settings I have tried multiple ports, 465, 993, 995 with encrypted selected and unselected. I still get the error. Outgoing server is port 25 with no encryption. I know this isn't what is suggested, but it works! What am I missing? p.s. Automatic detection in Outlook fails. Thanks, Brian

@Brian Kennedy

I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean by client access server however our end keeps logging bad login attempts for your account. Can you sign into your http://webmail.cox.net account? It might also help to try resetting your password on our site then see if your mail client works.

I tried all the recommended settings for both POP3 and IMAP always with a failure to log onto the Incoming Cox server, and unable to send test e-mail. It is unfortunate that Cox has chosen not to allow read permissions on their Client Access Server. Any other ideas to get Cox server access? Thanks, Brian
