Change WiFi Password Cisco Router

I was able to change my password on the Cisco router website via my IP address, but I am not being prompted to reset up my wireless network on my laptop. With a previous provider, once I changed the password - my old settings no longer worked and I had set up the wireless network. Why am I not being prompted to do this?

It sounds like you may have change the router password and not the wireless password, those are different.  I'd suggest signing into the router's web page again and checking under the wireless settings for the option to change your wireless key (password).

Are you connecting to linksyssmartwifi.com?

You're might be changing the password to access the administrator account for your router.  The wireless card on your laptop doesn't need the administrator's password.  Your wireless card only needs the network name (SSID) and network password (network key)...and whatever authentication and encryption parameters you've set...to access your network.

If you were to change either your network name, key or any other parameter...the old settings of the wireless card on your laptop would no longer work...then you will be prompted.

Perhaps it would help if your describe how you changed your password on your Cisco router. Its helps to know more about what you have tried so far so we know what to tell you to try next.Try to describe as you would a blind person, because I can't see whats on your screen. :-)
