Can I recover erased shows (Cisco's model 9865)

Have this so called upgraded box.  Sure I can record more shows then my older box - but one big feature I miss from my old box is the back up/defeated shows folder.

on this new box I have more than once deleated a show before watching it.

Please tell me there is a way to recover a deleated show!

Hi Sethm,

What is the model number of the box you're using?

Thanks,

Deleated is to Deleted as Defeted is to Defeated.

sethm,

The model 9865 doesn't offer the option to recover deleted recordings. I've forwarded your inquiry to our Product Management Team for consideration in future software updates.

Colleen, is there another box you can recommend ?

and has 6 (or 4) tuners?

we have two of these Cisco's and both me and my wife would prefer something better.

ps : why does Cox even carry such a box if the user can't recover deleted shows? Seems such a simple feature every box should have.

The 8246HDC/8300 running Rovi Passport has a limited feature of this type. Only 2 tuners though. I suggest thinking before deleting.

Domino-

it can be easy to tap the B (delete) button as the buttons are small and close together.  Maybe the system needs is a confirmation screen

Wouldn't that make it a pain for people who want to delete alot of recordings? Also, adding a feature isn't as simple as flipping a switch. Between the hardware, the firmware, the middleware, and the software. getting all the propgram designed and work is a moderate effort.

What did you erase anyway? Maybe we can find it online?

Yes, my older two tuner box was a pain in that regard (deleting deletes), just wish there was a "are you sure you want to delete this" option. The show I deleted was available "On Demand."

With Contour, the "B" button is the yes answer to the question "...are you sure you want to delete this program?"

For example, to delete a program from the Recorded Program list, select the program, select "Delete This Program, select "B" for YES.
