Blizzard Lag and Battlenet disconnects

For the 3rd night in a row, blizzard's battlenet disconnects in the evening, and lag is a severe problem in the New Orleans area, I have trouble believing it's on Blizzard's end when it's one provider and one area .... Cox, plenty comment and/or do something about it.

Someone else did a thread that was similar, but think that was in PHX. I also found this thread over on WoW's forum about a issue between Cox and WoW, and I quote;

"Hey guys, just wanted to jump in and let you know that we're aware of the issue and have brought it up with our technicians for further investigation as well. We'll be doing what we can from our end to address the issue as well. Should I hear any additional information, I'll be sure to update you guys! "

But just in case it's something else, could you provide a tracert? Here is info on how to do it.

I just got off the phone with Cox.  The following was reported to me about this issue (after jumping through about 10 hoops to get there.)

1. they are well aware of the problem.

2. you do not need to provide them with any information hundreds (literally) of people already have.

3. the problem is out of cox's hands - it funnels through cox's servers fine but fails once it leaves and goes to another companies servers.

4. that other company is actively working on fixing the problem.  The person on the phone with me said that  they were told yesterday that it would take  72 hours to fix it.  Meaning - 48 hours minimum for this to be fixed.

Hope this helps.

Hi Everyone,

Blizzard has stated they are working on the issue and already seeing improvements in the latency issues. They are posting updates from their Twitter account: @BlizzardCS.

So I wonder how many people they told to contact their ISP before admitting the problem was on their end. Blizzard support is such a joke. LOL

Blizzard has come out and admitted it's on their end. The post below is from a Blizzard moderator on the Blizzard forums.

"Update: 2/19/15 @ 1:05 PM PST

Hey folks,

I have a quick update for you guys. After investigating this issue, our admins found that this appears to have been caused by some congested points in the path that the connection was taking to reach our backbone provider's servers.

We've reached out to the parties involved and have made some routing changes that will hopefully route around those congested points, which in turn should resolve the in-game latency issues you've all been experiencing.

That being said, this issue doesn't usually show up until peak hours (around 6pm PST), so we won't know until then if the changes we've made have helped. Please let us know as soon as you've had a chance to test if this issue is still present."
