blank vidio on HDMI

I have the "old" HD DVR system.   Today when I tried to watch a recorded show the HDMI picture went dark.  I can hear the sounds and see the menus but the vidio is dark/blank.  When I exited from the recorded show to "live"  signal the picture remaines blank.

I have the sytem conected to my TV with both a HDMI and Coax? Cable connection.  When I switched to the Coaxill conection I could see the picture just fine.

So I know my HDMI conection is good and The picture is being recorded.   I seem to remember this happening a couple years ago so am hoping turning off the recorder for a few hours will fix it.  If that does not work I will unplug it for a while.

Anyone know the cause for this problem and a posible fix?

Your conclusion that your HDMI is good is faulty. My guess is that either the TV's or DVR's HDMI circuit has failed, or the HDMI connection at the DVR or at the TV is faulty, or the HDMI cable itself is bad. What led you to believe that your HDMI connection was good? Are you getting any failure code on the DVR's front panel?
