Anyone else experiencing nausea with the new DVR menus?

My DVR recently updated to the new user interface, and now the menus have an animated slide-in from the right instead of just appearing on screen.  It's fancy and neat, but at lot of the menus are several screens deep. now whenever I use the menus I feel like I am spinning and have to look away from the screen or have someone else operate the remote.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Is there any way to turn off the new animations so that I don't get sick whenever I watch the DVR?

Had the same effect on me. Wish the time and effort had been spent on making the CC button work.

Same effect with me also. I don’t understand why software developers chose to pick fancy effects that no one requested. At same time removing things that were good, like before when in guide you could hit record once and done. Now two more steps has been added, did anyone request to have record more complicated?

Like pbsawin said, why not send the time and effort on things that has been requested like CC button and other issues that have been identified as problems.

Changes were made to attract new customers - not to appease existing customers. That and reducing/streamlining customer service (and reducing costs in the process) are signs of a company getting ready to be sold.

I know of nobody that likes, or asked for, the sliding menus or scrolling text. Lucky Cox didn't add "whoosh" sound effects, too.

Domino, ROFLMAO at your “Lucky Cox didn’t add “whoosh” sound effects, too.” You are right on with your comments.

I also discovered another programming problem today with the record function. When in guide and you select record on a program title, as I mentioned earlier your are taken to new window, when there you see enter select for options, you are then taken to a window where start and end times can be changed at which point you have to hit “B” which reads “Record” with the changes, but if start time changes are made it will not be saved when you check it in the DVR scheduled recordings list. Only way to get start time to change is from DVR scheduled recordings list and select “Edit Record Options” which will accept start time change by pressing “B” which reads “Accept Changes” in this screen. Maybe programmers can correct this oversight.
