Suddenly my IMAP account for an offsite server is returning this message when I send email. It appears that the mail is going but I fear that it is not secure (SSL) I have SSL set for this outgoing account and I'm using the Cox SMTP server - smtp.cox.net and port 587 outgoing.

Michael2020,
Hi! I'm guessing that your email is with another provider? If so, I wouldn't change any IMAP server settings as we wouldn't be able to provide Cox approved information for another email provider. However, on the outgoing Cox email server with SSL enabled, you'd want to use port 465. Port 587 is to be used when TLS is enabled. Please see http://www.cox.com/residential/support/internet/article.cox?articleId=a8fb24c0-6440-11df-ccef-000000000000 for more information on the ports used when configuring the Cox email servers.
