Never seen this many DRW violations in a row before. Looks like it started some time last night. Consistent 3-5% upstream packet loss. I wonder what my neighbors are doing this time...

Did you recently install any splitters...move any electronic devices...recover from an outage?

I should make a canned script like the Cox representatives have stating that I didn't change anything, I don't have any splitters or amps, and that I've done all of the standard troubleshooting. 🙂

The good news is that the issue seems to have resolved itself about 2 hours ago. Went from DRW violation almost exactly every 5 minutes for almost 72 hours to no errors for the last 2 hours.

Fixed by Cox? On a Sunday? Probably not, so I'm thinking whichever neighbor was injecting noise into the line disconnected their faulty device. Let's hope they don't connect it again.

Initially....I didn't recognize your name.  You know a lot about logs, errors and troubleshooting.  I just asked canned questions.

It could have been the remnants of an overnight outage.  Good to read it cleared.

I was just kidding about the canned script. I understand why Cox staff and forum members have to ask questions like that. Mainly I'm just here to gripe because it's frustrating to have an intermittent issue and no way for Cox to monitor it on their end (must be seen by a home tech). The issue is back. I'll post more details in a different reply.

In your Cox account , does Cox declare a problem in your area?

I don't believe proactive Network Management is a core service with Cox.

No outage shown. It's too bad that Cox doesn't have the resources to be more proactive. It might save them money on truck rolls in the long run.

I know exactly what the issue is; I just don't have the ability to narrow it down on my own. Once I'm sure it's not going to go away again I'll call for a tech. Trouble is when an issue is happening 80% of the time the tech always shows up during the other 20% of the time. Murphy's Law.
