not connecting

there are a few things in my house that aren't connecting.. recently we changed user name and password.. ever since, some things are connected but others wont.. my thermostat for example will not.. we've got it to connect 2 times in the passed week but within 3 minutes it's back off.. my security system says connecting but cameras won't play or record.. our phone wifi is intermittent

What model router do you have? Panoramic? Did you change anything else other then the password? Why did you have to change the password? Trying to see if there is a root issue.

yes panoramic.  we suspected possibly hacking to our system.  our phones and cameras have been acting real weird lately so we changed both the wifi name and password.. but we've called into cox and done every type of troubleshooting possible but as far as they can tell everything looks good and working properly

How have they been acting weird? If you are having problems with your cameras and security system before changing the password, that is probably the issue, not the changing of the password. Can your cameras and security system see your Wi-Fi network even if it can't connect?
