imap Not Responding

I have an iPhone 7 (ios 11.3) which I'm unable to get working since the new imap/smtp security update. It was working and now I can't get mail.  I have three PC desktops, an Ip5s, another Ip7 and iPad that work fine but my iP7 won't work with the same settings and password.

Here's the popup error message:

Cannot Get Mail

The mail server "imap.cox.net" is not responding.  Verify that you have entered the correct account info in Mail Settings.

I've tried several times to delete the account and then reinstall.  Still won't work.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

..Joe

Could you post a screen shot of your Mail Settings? WAG your not using SSL to the IMAP server on port 993, which is now required since Cox's server are off the network.

Thanks for the reply.

I am using SSL (on) and 993 as on all of my other devices.

Can you show a screenshot of all the settings?

Hahah, That's the Cox email, and I doabt the screen shots would do them much good. Try KushOveride@gmail.com. Or try paste board/

One further bit of information ...

On the same iPhone 7 that I can't get IMAP to work with my email address joe.lanoue@  works fine using my lanoue@ address.

I am having this exact same issue.  My phone was working and I had all the correct settings and now I can't get email.  Did anyone figure out a solution for this yet.

Solution is changing your email clients settings. How you do that exactly depends on what they were to start with, and what client you are using. The main different is all email requires security, or SSL now. So no more using port 195/25. Everything has to use SSL and you need a username/password on outbound.

Hi scottb12,

Please check your account settings on your phone and you may use https://www.cox.com/residential/support/imap-server-settings.html as a resource to verify the email server settings.
