Higher ping when connecting to League of Legends server in Chicago

Hi, did Cox do something with their routing recently? I used to ping around 63 ms to the League of Legends servers in Chicago but now its around 73 ms. Granted, this is only a 10 ms increase but it is still annoying. How do we know Cox won't gradually increase ping and make our latency worse in the future? Could I also speak to a TIER 2 agent about this issue. A gaming VPN can decrease the ping slightly and I'm already using ethernet so I know the problem is not on my end. Plus, my neighbors around me are all experiencing the same thing.
