Gigablast not even close to gig
I've had gigablast for nearly a month now and have not come anywhere near the full gig speeds. I am on DOCIS 3.1 not fiber. I have run speed tests at different times of days on multiple days and websites, but have gotten nothing over 340mbps and even anything over 300 is very rare. I have done power cycles and even factory reset my modem and nothing. I am connected through my cat6 wire directly into the router and even when connected directly to the modem there is no difference. Why shouldn't I just downgrade to the Ultimate 300 and save myself some money? I also deal with a lot of packet loss and latency variation when trying to play video games, no matter which video game. I know that the PL/LV is not an isolated issue either, as I have seen plenty of forum posts here regarding this same issue. I would hate to have to go to CenturyLink with only 140mbps down, but if that's what I have to do to get a stable connection and actual advertised speeds, then so be it.

If you're having packet loss and your max speeds are around 300mbps, that sounds like a line quality issue. Maybe check the modem connectivity section for correctable and uncorrectable. Depending on how long it has been since you've power cycled the modem, those numbers should mostly stay at zero. If you see spikes of those numbers at once then that indicates a link problem and probably needs a tech.
Also, I have bad luck doing tests against speedtest.net, I usually use dslreports.com as my goto.
PS: What modem do you have and how many channels down/up does it support (if using your own).
Final note: you pc's hardware can also cause some limitations to your connection. If you're not running at least a Ryzan or intel (i3/5/i7) series chip, your speeds may be limited by your cpu's ability to process the data, there is offloaded from the network card to your pc to improve speeds and performance, but if you have an old processor that can bottleneck things.

i am having the same issue. gigablast plan.. wont go over 340 down over Ethernet but my iphone 11 pro max with wifi 6 gets 600 down wireless.. still a shame to be paying 100 a month for something not even at half gigabit speed on my main PC
