Wifi not working

Hello. The wifi connection in my modem has stopped functioning. I can only access internet through the ethernet chord. This has happened on several occasions but rebooting the modem has always fixed the issue. Now, I have rebooted 3 times over the course of two days and the modem is still not giving out a wifi signal. Please help.

Well if it has Wifi, its not a modem, so lets start off with what it is? Is it a DPC3825? Or something else?

It's a Netgear Wireless Cable Gateway CG3000D

Oh...your Cisco modem tag confused me. Is that the only device you have? And did you configure the Wifi to work, or did Cox when they installed it? If the latter, I will leave a moderator to help you out because there is no dependable support info available for that device.

Yeah it's my only device, and yes Cox configured it for me. Thanks for the help

If the wireless is shutting off it would sound like something has broken onto the router or the broadcast itself is failing. To check the settings for the Netgear directly you would want to open up a browser and log in http://192.168.0.1/ with the user name as admin and password as the default password (unless they have been changed).

Once have logged in you would want to check the wireless settings and likely change the passphrase/key and also check that that the SSID Broadcast is checked under the advanced wireless settings. If that is enabled changing the wifi channel may help but more then likely the router's antenna or broadcast is starting to fail if nothing is out of place on the settings.
