The last few weeks I'm receiving large numbers of corrupted web pages. These are clearly transmission errors, where a single character or a few characters are mangled, and not caught by TCP/IP checksums. It happens on multiple computers, I've replace network switches and it still happens, and I'm finally convinced it's something happening upstream in the land of Cox.
It definitely feels like upstream somewhere Cox is intercepting the data and caching it, and in the process of sending it back out sometimes mangling it. This doesn't happen to anything I've seen other than port 80 data--FTP is fine, large PTP transfers outside of port 80 work fine... it's just run of the mill web traffic that's being corrupted.
It can be REALLY annoying when a cookie is corrupted and gets stashed--took me a while to figure out why I couldn't log in to my webmail. Nothing I did would let me in and I got back nonsense for error messages. It finally dawned on me that a Set-Cookie header had probably been mangled, and sure enough, clearing the cached cookies from that site solved the problem.
Anybody else seen it? It was happening here in Las Vegas for a couple weeks a few months ago, then it stopped. And now it started again in about the last month. Oddly enough, the very same thing happened to me in Kansas a couple years ago. It even resulted in my iPhone being bricked when it loaded a corrupted iOS image--that sure took a while to resolve. But the problem in Kansas also resolved itself eventually.

I certainly haven't seen other reports of similar behavior. Have you tried bypassing your router to see if you get the same results? Most routers have a web traffic filter that can sometimes get enabled or corrupted causing behaviors like you have described.

I am having the same issue. It feels the same as the issue from a few months ago but less severe. It's been going on for several weeks, but seems worse in the last week or so. Normally a forced refresh of a page would fix it, but now it is taking several refreshes sometimes without ever getting completely correct data.
Using the same laptop outside the Cox network I never have this issue.
