Since late October, I have been experiencing intermittent frame freeze, pixelation noise and audio jitter on three flat screen TVs with DVR and non-DVR boxes---mostly HD channels but similar less distinct interference on regular channels. This issue seems to appear when transitioning into fall/winter season.

If I had to guess; loose fitting at the drop? That assume it's weather related. Do you live in the Northern US? If so I know its moderately common for the drop conduits to pull out of their casings as they retract with the cold.
In general though, sounds like a broad signal problem on the downstream. Do you have a amp? Do you know how to get into the diagnostics of the box? I can tell you, just need to know what kind of box you have. Model number is usually on the front of the box.

Thanks for response. I live in Tucson. Weather has been very mild until late November when overnight temps started dropping to mid 40s and occasionally into 30s. The video/audio issue has been a seasonal issue since I changed to digital service several years ago but especially so since I went to all flat panels and HD service. The issue seems to moderate somewhat during daytime temps. I ran the online trouble shooting so I could say I did it, but it doesn't make since with problem showing on all three TVs---one with DVR and two with non-DVR boxes. I have been using Cox for twenty years and have no idea if my service line and boxes have ever been updated. The outside box is black plastic; no Model number. The cover is hanging loosely from base and is not sealed. There is no filter that I can tell just a two-line splitter into the house with only one coax line to the house. I have been considering a bundle with Cox but that's on hold until this signal quality issue is resolved.

When it happens on all TV, is it at the same time, same channels?
If you have checked all your internal wiring, next step would be to have a technician. Have them look at the signal going to Boxes on their side first so the technician will have a better idea what he is going out there to fix.

Thank you for the reply ColleenD. I actually wound up canceling the appointment as the problem seemed to have gone away for a few days and I thought the problem solved itself however it started up again tonight on one of our tv's. Now I have to set up another appointment.

We live in Casa Grande and are experiencing the same type of issues mainly on the HD channels; Discovery, History, HGTV. Have gone back to watching non HD programming, which is working just fine, just to avoid the nusance.
Did the tech ever find the source of your problem?
