Unable to connect my extender to this router

Hello,

I am unable to connect my netgear extender through this router. I had no problems when I was with AT&T. It is a NETGEAR WN2500RP and I have a Cisco router from Cox.

I am receiving a message that says I might need to enter information into the existing router?

Please advise.

We may be able to offer assistance, where did you purchase your wireless extender? What is the model number of the Cisco router?

 I am not sure where I purchased the router as I have been using it for at least 2 years. The Cisco router from cox is DPQ3925.

I am receiving this message when I try to enter my password in order to set up the extended networks:

If you entered the correct passphrase, and the Extender did not connect to your existing wireless network, you might need to move the Extender closer to your router or to a position with a better line of sight. Check the Extender LEDs to isolate the problem. The LEDs are explained in the installation guide and user manual for your product.

If you have Access Control List (ACL) enabled in your router, please make sure you have added below MAC address into your router's Access Control List (ACL).

The Extender MAC address is 02:0F:B5:27:BA:78 , 04:A1:51:27:BA:79 , 06:A1:51:27:BA:79
Your wireless adapter MAC address is 02:0F:B5:0D:C1:21
Click Cancel to select a different network.

I also just bought another extender, a Belkin, to see if that was the problem, but I can't get connected with the new one either.

Any help would be appreciated. The Cox signal does not go far in our house.

What make and model is the signal extender?  Where did you purchase the signal extender that you're having trouble connecting to the router?

I have given you the model of the extender and the cox router in previous email. It is a NETGEAR WN2500RP and I have a Cisco router from Cox, model DPQ3925. I do not know where I purchased the extender as I have had it working for over a year, probably at Best Buy. I am still waiting on help with the Netgear extender.I copied and pasted the message I receive when I try to connect.

How close is the extender to the modem while you are trying to setup the extender. Ideally it should be in a clear line of sight in proximity to the router you are connecting it to.
