Hopefully this is considered a technical question.

Can I receive TV starter packege with a cable card device?

Yes. Starter is the most basic package, with 10 channels. A cable card, tuner adapter and 3rd party device should get you every channel listed under Starter and Essential listed here.

ColleenD, why was JohnM's other thread locked without an answer from Cox???????  He did ask a technical question, as restated above, and we were providing answers.  This isn't the first time lately that a thread has been locked without providing an answer .... IMHO, the mods have been too quick to paste the standard response and lock threads without fully reading them for technical content.  This is a disservice to your customers.

Yes, Please contact us via one of the other methods I provided you so we can address this. I've already provided feedback to the rep who provided incorrect information based off of the account associated with the email address you registered for forums with, but we are required to verify your account to make changes and this can't be done via the Cox Forums.

This isn't really a technical question, it's more a billing one that can't really be resolved via forums. You and Tecknowhelp both provided the correct answer, which is why I did not repeat it.

@ColleenD Are you insinuating that something we are saying is incorrect?  OP came here for a open transparent conversation after getting misinformation from Cox. If the problem is OP doesn't sign up for certain services, why not just say that? They are obviously open about sharing what cable package they have.... and it's not like that info can be used to compromise account security. Locking the thread and then asking the customer to contact you privately without giving some reason makes Cox look like they are trying to hide something IMO.
