Trying to hook up my Cox DVR box to a ZVOX audio box.
Trying to hook up my Cox DVR box to a ZVOX audio box. I hook up the digital to the box and get a buzzing type sound. Tried using the fiber output and also tried the coax output and both give me the buzzing sound when I selected that input on the ZVOX box. The audio sounds ok using the RCA cable from the DVR box to the ZVOX box and from the RCA outs on the back of the TV to the ZVOX box.
So are there any setting in the DVR to change to get digital audio out? I set audio on the audio output screen to digital and still get the buzzing.
The TV is hooked to the DVR by a DVI cable.
What am I doing wrong?

Besides forcing us to guess at the make/model of the DVR, the IPG in use, and the model number of the audio box?

Thanks for reaching out to us through the Cox Forums! So that we know the available inputs and outputs on the DVR, the model DVR you have would be incredibly helpful. Also, is this for a business account or a residential account? Did the ZVOX audio receiver come with any setup instructions?
With a few more pieces of information, I'm sure we can get you pointed in the right direction.

Hello,
I have the Motorola COx DVR box, DCT6412 III, residential account. The ZVOX audio receiver has min of instructions to make it easy, they say. Has a input 1 optical 2 coax, and 4 and 4 are RCA inputs.
Good news, I needed to set the DVR box to PCM output and then set my TV to PCM as well and now it works.

That's because your audio box couldn't decode DD surround.
