Technician took old cable boxes ...

Have any of you experienced this problem? I moved to new house, technician showed up and brought new DVR + cable box, took the old ones that belonged to my boyfriend from Gonzales, LA. (and were under his name) but did not give me credit for them. Now Cox wants to know where their boxes are and are charging him $300+ dollars, saying the boxes weren't returned. The cox rep said it would be no problem for me to give the boxes to the tech when he showed up to install new boxes in new home. They keep saying they're going to contact the technician who took them but have never contacted me with that information. Would be a great scam on the part of the technicians who do this.

Anyone else ever had this problem and had it resolved?

Sounds more like a lazy technician then a scam. When he took the old boxes, he should have scanned them to put them back into inventory. If they are just sitting in the back of his truck, they will still be MIA.

Thank you TiffanyR. Yes, Cox told us they would look into the "unreturned boxes" but never got back to us. We've inquired via telephone and email six (6) times since November 2014. I will email you the addresses.

Thank you!

Yes, My bill became inflated when equipment charges were pint to it. However, I gave my local cox office a visit to explain my end and to take a look at my account in person. It took a few discussions after which the amount of my bill was reduced to what I expected.
