Sports Treated As A Live Event Instead Of A Series

In this locked post (http://forums.cox.com/forum_home/tv_forum/f/4/t/2502.aspx) a user complained that the Trio guide treats sports as a live event instead of a series.  ColleenD said she would pass along this suggestion, but it is 7 months later and the option still does not exist.

With my older Motorola Cox DVRs that did not have the Trio software, I could set it to record every time MLB Baseball showed up on NESN keeping up to 1 recording, and that way I would always have the latest Red Sox game recorded.  Now with Trio, I see this is not possible and it has not been implemented in the 7 months since a previous user requested it.

Come on Cox, make this happen.  It is annoying to have to setup all these individual recordings.  You would think the new enhanced Trio guide would at least retain backwards compatibility with the older DVR software.

I see that Cox employees have time to respond to other posts to tell them their requests are not meant for this forum. I also see Cox employees taking time to respond to other posts to tell them their requests are not controlled by Cox. What I'm NOT seeing is a response to THIS post which is something that Cox DOES have control over. Is anyone from Cox going to acknowledge this?

Probably because the "series" label is applied by the program data provider, not Cox. Passport and Trio (Contour) use different data providers. Perhaps this will be addressed somehow in a future update, but I tend to doubt it.

i know there is a technical reason behind it, but I mostly posted because another user had brought up this concern 7 months ago and it hasn't been addressed.  The average user doesn't care that the data provider is different, they care about the basics of this situation that "it used to work that way, and now with newer/more expensive hardware it doesn't".  But just like that other user, I've been told that "my voice has been heard" and that the request has been passed along.  I hope that user wasn't holding his breath for a resolution...
