Slow Download Speeds
Using a Netgear N450 CG3000Dv2 with Preferred Internet Service which can go up to 50 Mbps down. However, If I download anything the peak I reach is just above 7Mbps. I use a wired connection as well. Is this normal or can something be done to increase down speeds?

Please answer Teck's questions outlined below:
1. What is the general problem? Slow speed tests? Slow streaming? Slow downloading? Intermittent connectivity? Try to describe the problem as if you were to a blind person, because we can't see anything you can.
2. What equipment do you have? What model modem or gateway? Do you also have a router? Already answered
3. How do you have it configured? Router in AP mode? Gateway in bridge mode? Using IPv6? Wireless radio? Security type? Mostly answered
4. Show me the data! Speed test results, signal levels (192.168.100.1 unless a gateway), ping tests and tracert (if relevant). Also, if you post logs, be sure to edit out any MAC addresses or other personal info.
5. What plan/tier do have? Will say so on your bill. Already answered
6. Troubleshooting steps you have tried so far.
7. Outline of any visits from a Cox Technician. What did they do? What did they say?
