I’m having problems prioritizing Suits on USA channel 17 on my DVR.
When I first scheduled Suits (first run and repeats) the time grid indicated No recording. I raised the priority, and the time grid indicated a multiple schedule (red rectangle with multiple boxes). Later, I scheduled other programs and may have changed schedules, and next time I checked Suits indicated no recording.
I moved the priority to the top of the list, and the time grid indicated it was scheduled. Then, I attempted to find the conflict by decreasing the priority until no recording was seen. Once I found it, increasing the priority, even to the top of the list, didn’t allow it to be scheduled again. I deleted Suits from the priority list, made sure it wasn’t listed twice, rescheduled it, and moved the priority to the top, but it still isn’t scheduled.
I’m using a Motorola DCT6416 III VCR.
How can I reschedule Suits.

When the show is about to start are you there and if so do you get a tuner conflict message?

Hi Chris:
I have never seen any error code on either DVR, but doubt if I was looking at a DVR when the program was scheduled to start. It’s a good tip: I’ll check in the future when there are potential issues.
About the same time you answered, The problem DVR started recording Suits. I’ll need to check for a longer time, but hope that issue is resolved. I’m guessing my repeated session priority changes provided more data then space allocated by the internal computer, causing a temporary lockup. I also stopped scheduling programs where large blocks of re-runs occur or there are many repeats that I have seen. I search for these programs on Titan TV (http://www.titantv.com/) and manually schedule the few I need.
I made a table where I list recorded programs for each DVR in separate columns, and recently the scheduled recordings agree.
My Motorola DCH3200 digital receiver has listed REC on the display from time to time. When that code appears, it is inoperative and it is necessary to receive channels directly from Cox. After a while, the error code disappears and the digital receiver works ok. Are you familiar with that error code?
For those who are looking at this thread for the first time, my DVR was not recording all scheduled programs. I made many priority changes in the session manager, and the priority order seemed to lock up. I could still change priorities, but the changes didn’t actually occur. Time overlap or attempting to handle more than two programs simultaneously was not the issue. I rented a second DVR temporarily to compare what was recorded. If someone else has had this problem, I would like to know your experiences.
All my comments apply to standard definition programming. I won’t try HD scheduling until a higher capacity DVR is available.
Jim
