SB6183 with Ultimate

I got a new SB6183 to get the 300Mb speeds that I pay for. I'm not getting any faster than I was with my old SB6141 modem (about 170Mb down). I keep reading that something has to be done on Cox's side to enable the faster speeds for my new modem. The support people I talked to had no clue what I was talking about and is trying to send a tech out. Does anyone know if I should automatically get the faster speeds with my new modem?

Man, support on this forum is awesome! I am impressed. I currently have Ultimate 300/30 and I am upgrading on Friday from an SB6141 to an SB6190. Could you please check to see if I have the correct service code and that my 24 or 32 channel bonding is unlocked? Or should that be done after I replace the modem and have it provisioned?

I recently did the same upgrade and am experiencing similar results (175 down, 20 up).

Upgraded from the SB6141 to the SB6183 and did not experience the expected results.

My computer is connected directly to my modem, without any devices or splitters etc.

I hope you can fix my situation too.

I was informed by a telephone rep that the 300 mb speeds are not yet available in Phoenix. 

Can you please verify this for me?  I have the Ultimate tier speed and a new SB6183 modem.

That's a lie. I'm in Tucson, which gets the same upgrades as Phoenix (except Gigablast) and I've had 300 Mbps since September.
